Landulph Orchard Green
Visit by Landulph School - 3 July 2026
The children of Landulph School (55 children) visited Duchess Green on 3 July 2026 with five members of staff. The children worked in groups of 11 children to work on six challenges loosely related to Citizen Science with nine volunteers helping the children:
- Pond wildlife - recording the wildlife in and on the pond
- Using a compass - following a route using a compass
- Exploring the mound - investigating the impact of gradient
- Grassland plants & bugs - recording the wildlife in a metre square
- Miyawaki measuring - investigating how much the trees have grown
- Habitat identification - identifying wildlife living in different habitats
The children also took some photos to enter in the Landulph Climate Group Wildlife Photography Competition. Additional equipment and identification guides was borrowed from the Tamar Valley Centre.
